Let Us Pray

It all started when Joseph called Laura 'Dumbledore.' We were sitting down around the table to eat lunch. Laura then started to call everyone a name of one of the characters from the Harry Potter books. The girls have been listening to the books on CD so she was quick to spew the names out matching them up with whoever she thought was the best fit.

After a couple of minutes of this Joseph cut in and said, "Okay we need to say the blessing. Whose turn is it?"

"It's Eve's."

We all quietly bowed our heads.

"Dear Harry Potter. . ."

We laughed so hard there were tears streaming down our faces. Joseph was the only one who could gain enough control to actually say a proper blessing on the food. So who do you pray to at your house? Obviously there's been a little too much Harry Potter madness at ours.

Ha! That's Hilarious!! We had a funny prayer moment in primary on Sunday-ending with the kids saying somthing like "si tu papa te dice que no vas television, no la veas por que te vas a hacer loco..." We pray to Joseph Smith in our house.. or to which ever football player is playing on John's Fantasy Football team! :D

that is so cute, what a fun memory.

Has anyone answered the phone after prayers "Dear Heavenly Father" - my sis did that once, we died laughing.

I laughed out loud when I read that one and then called J right over to have him read it too! Our kids caught some Harry Potter fever this summer, but not quite like that! Hee, hee!

That is so funny! Thanks for sharing! I remember when my oldest was about 3 she said the prayer right after Thanksgiving. It started out "Dear Santa."

I remember someone in my seminary class once starting his prayer by saying, "Dear Hovenly Feather." So hard to pray after that....
