Quilt Quiz #2

Here I go again! I've narrowed the quilts down to these two choices. Joseph honestly doesn't care which one I make and I cannot decide. I did decide not to do the Star one because it reminds me of a child's room, so chances are Ira will get one like that. :D So from these two which one do you like better? I must be a glutton for punishment because they will both take some work, but I'm looking forward to it.Tumbling Tumbleweeds
Unnamed

Out of these two, I like the tumbling tumbleweeds. Something about the light to dark and back to light again really pleases my eye. They both look like a TON of work!

If it were me, I would pick Unnamed. I love this quilt! The colors are warm and rich and they all work together really well. Also, you mentioned before that you wanted more red in it, and I really love the red in this quilt.

I love em' both but I think it depends on what you want the tumbleweed seems to add contrast in a sweeping motion across the quilt. While the unnamed is quieter and more traditional. I think if you really want people who visit to notice your quilt go with tumbleweed but if you want it just to accent an already beautiful room go with unnamed. Well there ya go my 2cents. Good luck!!

For the Unnamed, I have a great tool called the Flying Geese 4x4 that gives you the measurements for making two half square triangles at once. You know out of a square - draw a line from corner to corner and sew on either side of it. Cut on the line and press the units open. Voila!

Much less stretch from sewing on the bias, and no waste.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm glad you found me. I put together units semi regularly if you want to check back. I think I like the bottom quilt the best, but they are both very pretty. How long does something like take you to make?

I vote for unnamed. You are very ambitious! Someday I'm going to learn how to quilt.

Oh my goodness, you actually make stuff like this? I have so much envy for anyone who can sew this well. Post pictures of it when you're done, okay?

As for my vote, I like them both. Quilting is a work of art -- what's not to love?

Tumbleweed is still my favorite. I too have a lot of respect and envy for anyone who can quilt! I also liked seeing another Kassi with a K!
