There's a first for everything

Tuesday was a day full of firsts for me. Just think, a couple of hours free from all children (hasn't happened since I went into the hospital to have Ira) and what do I do with my time?

I go to the dentist.

I was supposed to get a tooth fixed that had a cavity (first #1). They numbed me all up (first #2) and began drilling. The x-rays showed a cavity that was close to the nerve but I hadn't felt any pain whatsoever so the dentist was hopeful I wouldn't have to have a root canal. He was right. I had it pulled instead (first #3).

I haven't been to the dentist in about 6 years and decided it was about time for a check-up. Wish I'd have had regular check-ups. They would have caught the cavity when it first began. Instead it was all decayed on the inside with an abscess by the root. He gave me two options: have a root canal (about $1300) with a crown ($800) or get it extracted ($101). Since it was the last tooth next to my wisdom tooth (I still have all my wisdom teeth in my very large mouth) on the top I told him to pull it. You can't even tell there's a tooth missing when I smile or laugh.

Wonder what the tooth fairy will bring me?

The fairy will probably bring you a rock, so that in 6 months when you don't go in for your regular check up, you can just knock yourself in the head.

I'd say the tooth fairy should be bringing you something to the tune of $699! Happy shopping!

Dentists are evil. I have to go to mine tomorrow to finish my root canal. It's so much fun, they split it into a two part thing.

How about another 2 hours without kids? So you can do something pleasant this time?

(I still have all my wisdom teeth, but it's only because they pulled those last ones next to them to make room)

Well, I'm glad you had some fun "me-time"! I think since you saved so much money with the tooth-pull, the tooth fairy should treat you to a pedicure!

To tooth fairy should pay you at least half of what you saved. Go pamper yourself and enjoy your time without the little ones :) !!
