Western Comfort

We need a new quilt for our bed. You know what that means, don't you? I get to have a blast designing a quilt with my Electric Quilts (EQ) design software. And look at what I found today.

Prairie Girls Quilt Shop has loads of western print fabrics. I've been saving the images to import into EQ so I can really design a quilt and know exactly what it will look like. The colors will be similar to the blog because those are the colors I find soothing, only I think I will put in more red.

Thanks for this link. I love any cowboy fabrics, and they are really hard to find. My favorites are anything paisley, and I love the cowboy toile prints! I could just eat them up!

I love quilting. I made a cowboy baby quilt for my sis's last boy.

Do you know what pattern you want to use?

you mean you have a machine that can create patterns to make on your quilts? wow, this is really out of my league! :)

EQ is a computer program that helps you design quilts. It even uses fabric swatches and colors so you can really 'see' what the quilt will look like. It tells you exactly how much of each material to get, how to do rotary cutting (if possible), instructions for sewing each block, etc. Fun Stuff!

It sounds like a very fun program. You will have to share the design you come up with. have fun =)

Cool fabrics! when you get it figured out you'll have to post your design. The thought of quilting makes me very tired....zzzz.

I wish I could sew! I have never even sat at a sewing machine *sigh* I have so little time! Maybe in retirement.
