A Kick in the Pants

Sometimes we need a little kick in the pants to start implementing changes in our lives that we know we should do but for some reason (usually laziness) we haven't done. So I am joining the Smart Habits Saturdays to see if this is the little kick in the pants I need.

It wouldn't be hard to miss me if you tried to kick my pants. Let's just say after seven children I am no longer the 5' 2" 107 lb. bride I used to be. Now I'm not extremely overweight. According to several different charts (this one's my favorite because it takes body frame size into account) I am only about 5-10 lbs. overweight. But I am a far cry from what I was when I got married. :D So my habit to work on this week is to exercise every day for at least 30 minutes. I am going to alternate walking/jogging and light weight training.

You little thing you. I'm 6-1, almost a whole foot taller than you! I think the last time I weighed 107 pounds was in sixth grade.

Thanks for joining us and I love your blog. It's beautiful! Do you read "notes from the trenches", a Mom with 6 boys and one girl?

I couldn't tell you the last time I weighed 107 lbs. Gosh, 3rd grade? lol You have to start somewhere trying to lose those baby pounds. I still have mine and a long way to go. Good luck this week with your goal. You can do it!

Good luck fellow exerciser! You are motivated, I'm only shooting for 3x this week, but that's better than none, right? Hope you have a successful week!

Welcome, welcome to this amazing forum! I love SHS! It really has given me a good "kick in the pants" to start implementing positive habits in my life.

And I am so impressed you are only 5-10 pounds overweight after 7 kids.

Happy exercising this week! You can do it!

Ah, yes. Excercise is such a noble habit, one I have not been able to keep up myself. You can do it! Good luck this week.

This is such a hard but easy habit. I've tried it before with little luck, because I dreaded it an had trouble finding time for it. Now, I've scheduled it into my daily routine and I focus on exercise = pretty clothes. ~lol~ Helps a lot!

Love your blog...Lara's right, it's just beautiful!

I agree your blog is beautiful. Good luck with the exercise. I'm doing that too this week, but only 15 minutes. I have to start small. Hope it goes well for you.

so do i have to have a baby so that i can get a little time to dress up my blog as nice as yours? (you are amazing! the other night i told my book group about you and we all agreed you are superhuman.)

From your photos you do not look 5-10 lbs overweight, but whatever. maybe i should join the group. i lost my 10 lbs. but now i feel it creeping back.

Calandria,

I wish I was superhuman! I've only been able to dress up the blog because there are only certain things one can do while nursing and working on the computer is one of those things. As far as not looking overweight in my photos . . . I love my cropping tool on Photoshop!

wow, my oldest daughter is way off the charts for her weight. she's 5"8 and ten pounds below the small frame weight zone according to this chart. i've always wondered about this chart though (i haven't looked at it for ages) but i was always considered underweight for my height (keeping within the small frame zone) and yet i'm quite normal looking. i'm not at all skinny.
